Acute Coronary Syndrome and Stable Coronary Artery Disease
Acute Coronary Syndrome: Sudden blockage of blood flow to the heart. Stable Coronary Artery Disease: Chronic narrowing of coronary arteries causing predictable chest pain.

Coronary Angiogram and Angioplasty
Coronary Angiogram: X-ray procedure to visualize blockages in coronary arteries. Angioplasty: Opens narrowed or blocked arteries, often with stent placement, to restore blood flow to the heart.

PFO and ASD
PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale) and ASD (Atrial Septal Defect): Abnormal openings between the heart chambers, potentially causing blood flow abnormalities and requiring intervention.

Right Heart Study
Right Heart Study: Evaluates right heart function and pressures, aiding in diagnosing conditions like pulmonary hypertension and congenital heart defects.

General Cardiology and Heart Failure
General Cardiology: Diagnoses and treats heart disease. Heart Failure: Ineffective heart pumping, treated with medication, lifestyle changes, and possible devices or transplantation.

ABOUT
Dr Tony Vo
MBBS, BMedSc, FRACP
Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology
Dr. Tony Vo is a Specialist Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist providing both inpatient and outpatient services at Gold Coast University Hospital and Gold Coast Private Hospital.
Dr Vo earned his medical degree from the University of Melbourne and completed his cardiology training at various Australian teaching hospitals including Royal North Shore Hospital, Ryde Hospital, Launceston General Hospital and Royal Darwin Hospital before settling into sunny Queensland and undertaking his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the Gold Coast University Hospital.
During his time as a senior cardiology trainee and fellow, he was involved in approximately 4,000 procedures in not only coronary work with complex higher risk and indicated patients (CHIP) including left main stenting, bypass graft stenting, bifurcation stenting, primary PCI (heart attacks and cardiac arrests), CTO, Rotablation, Coronary Physiology and Imaging but also engaged in structural training as well with TAVI, BAV and PFO/ASD closures.
Dr Vo is also proficient in Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE), Trans-oesophageal Echocardiography (TOE), stress testing and cardioversion.
Dr Vo believes in sowing back to the younger generations of medical students and cardiology trainees (and nurses) and enjoys teaching both at the bedside and within the cathlab. His active involvement in teaching has been recognised and he has been invited on numerous occasions by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CVRF) to be the Australian ambassador for major internationally recognised interventional cardiology meetings (TCTAP, AP Valves and Structural Heart and Complex PCI).
